These terms apply when you use this site or ask Olivet Preceptor to help with a clinical placement. By using the site or our service, you agree to them. Please read them alongside your Olivet program's own requirements.

The service
Olivet Preceptor is an independent placement service for Olivet Nazarene University nursing students. We search for preceptors and practicum sites that fit a student's Olivet course, prepare the preceptor and site information the student brings to Olivet for approval, and help find a replacement if a preceptor steps away.
Olivet Nazarene University does not run this service, and the information on this site is not an official Olivet statement. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Olivet Preceptor, and "you" means the person using the site or the service.
Olivet's role and final approval
Olivet approves every preceptor its students use, sets the states where practicum hours may be done, and its faculty evaluate student outcomes. Olivet's handbooks, program pages, Canvas clinical requirements courses, course syllabi and faculty set the rules for your program.
Where anything on this site or in our communications differs from Olivet's current requirements, Olivet's requirements apply.
No promise of placement, approval or dates
We work hard to find a suitable preceptor and site for you. We do not promise that one will be found, that one will be found by a particular date, that Olivet will approve a site or preceptor we identify, or that you will start or finish any course or program on a particular timetable.
Preceptors and sites make their own decisions and may change or withdraw their availability at any time, including after Olivet's approval.
Your responsibilities
You remain responsible for meeting Olivet's requirements and deadlines, whether or not we are helping you. In particular, you are responsible for:
- meeting Olivet's clinical compliance requirements in the system your handbook names and keeping every item current;
- holding an active, unencumbered RN license and reporting any change as Olivet requires;
- completing background checks, drug screens, health clearance, immunizations and any site requirements before patient contact;
- doing practicum hours only where Olivet allows them and logging them accurately;
- staying in contact with your faculty, the SON Clinical Coordinator and the Online Advising Team;
- giving us accurate information and telling us promptly about any change.
Fees
Our fees are quoted individually, based on your program, course, location and timing, and your quote sets out what it covers. Charges made by a clinical site or other third party, and Olivet's own tuition and fees, are separate from our fee. Olivet's fee sheet places compliance and several program costs on the student.

Our guides summarize Olivet's public handbooks, program pages, fee sheet, licensure disclosures and other official sources as of the date shown on each page. They are general information, not academic, legal or professional advice, and Olivet's rules can change. Check your handbook, your Canvas clinical requirements course, your faculty and the SON Clinical Coordinator before relying on any detail.
Communications
Sending us your details means you consent to our contacting you about your inquiry and placement by email, phone call or text message, as our privacy policy describes. Reply STOP to any text to opt out of text messages.
Acceptable use
Please use this site for its intended purpose. Do not submit false information, misuse the forms or chat, or copy the site's content for commercial use without permission.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Olivet Preceptor is not liable for losses that arise from the decisions of Olivet, a preceptor or a clinical site, from delays in approval or course progression, or from reliance on the general information on this site. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. Each revision carries a new date at the top of the page. Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page or the chat.
