Why every Olivet plan is quoted on its own
Two Olivet students rarely need the same search, so each plan gets its own quote instead of a posted rate. An FNP student with four clinical courses and 750 hours ahead is a different job from an NEL student with a 30-hour and a 120-hour practicum, or an RN-BSN student who needs 15 hours with a hospice nurse.
Each input below changes how much searching, checking and follow-up your placement takes, and that work is what the quote reflects. They appear roughly in the order they move a quote, starting with the biggest. It also means the quote covers exactly the courses you ask about and leaves out anything you have already arranged yourself.
Your track and the courses you want covered
Scope is the largest input. You can bring us one course or a full sequence, and each clinical course needs a preceptor matched to its own patients unless one preceptor suits several.

Where Olivet's own documents disagree, as they do for the certificate and the RN-BSN, we quote from what your advisor confirms for you. Planning several courses together also lets us line up the next preceptor while you are still finishing the current one.
Where you live and how far you will drive
Location moves a quote in two ways. One is Olivet's rule: FNP practicum hours are allowed only in Olivet's approved states, and the 13 states on its Not Approved list stay closed even to students who live beside them. The other is density, since a metro area offers more primary care practices within an easy drive than a rural county.
A wider drive radius opens more practices and usually shortens the search. If you can travel farther for one course than another, tell us, and we plan each course to its own radius. Students near Bourbonnais can read Kankakee and Chicagoland preceptors for the local picture.
How soon your course opens
Time is the input students most often underestimate. Before the first clinical day, Olivet wants every compliance item complete and the drug screen cleared 2 to 4 weeks ahead of the practicum, and some sites add onboarding through MyClinicalExchange. Olivet does not publish how long approval takes, so a preceptor confirmed late leaves little room for the rest.
A plan that begins a full course ahead lets the search run at a steady pace. A plan that begins a few weeks before the course calls for concentrated outreach and faster follow-up, and the quote reflects that extra effort. How narrow the specialty is
Some Olivet courses draw on a wide pool of preceptors and some on a small one. Adult and older adult primary care fits many practices. Women's health and pediatric primary care fit fewer, because the preceptor's own patients have to match the course. NRSG 620 calls for a nurse educator or nurse leader, and NRSG 364 for a hospice nurse.
A narrow specialty takes more outreach to fill well, particularly in a smaller town. Your quote names the courses we expect to need the most work, so you can see where the effort goes before anything starts. If you already have an adult primary care preceptor but nobody for pediatrics, the quote can cover the pediatric course alone.

Olivet's costs sit alongside ours
Your quote covers our placement work. Olivet's own practicum costs follow its School of Nursing fee sheet: compliance tracking with the background check and drug screen, a yearly renewal, CPR, titers, the physical, health insurance and Project Concert. FNP students see extra lines too: medical equipment, a lab fee for the FNP Immersion and a board-prep program.
Sites can add charges of their own, such as a MyClinicalExchange platform charge, parking, an ID badge or individual malpractice insurance. Who pays for what walks through the fee sheet line by line, and Olivet's current sheet has the amounts. Budget for them early, since the compliance package and any site onboarding have to be finished before your first clinical day.
Questions Olivet students ask
Why does this page not list a price?
Because one price would be wrong for most students. An FNP student with four clinicals ahead, an NEL student with a single 120-hour practicum and an RN-BSN student who needs a hospice nurse ask for very different amounts of work. A quote built from your track, courses, location and timing fits you, and one short form gets it started.
Does adding a course later change my quote?
Adding a course adds a search, so it adds to the plan. Tell your placement advisor once you know your next course and its start date, and we quote the addition then. Students who plan the whole sequence at once let us line up each preceptor before the previous course wraps up.
Are site charges such as parking or MyClinicalExchange part of your quote?
They sit outside it. Olivet's fee sheet lists site-dependent charges, including a MyClinicalExchange platform charge where a site uses it and possible fees for parking, an ID badge or individual malpractice insurance. We pass along any site charges we learn about before you commit to a site, so you can plan for them.
Do NEL and RN-BSN students get different quotes from FNP students?
Yes, because the work differs. NEL practicums call for nurse educators or nurse leaders rather than primary care providers, and the hour totals are smaller. The new-curriculum RN-BSN needs a hospice nurse for NRSG 364 and a population health setting for NRSG 471. Each quote reflects the preceptors your own courses require.
Can I get a quote while I am still searching on my own?
Yes. Many students ask for a quote while their own outreach is still running, then decide once they see how their network responds. Tell us which leads you are working so the quote covers only the courses you want help with. Your options compared sets the routes side by side.
