How Olivet's fee sheet is organized

The document is titled School of Nursing Program Track-Specific Fees, and it does what the name says: each program track gets its own list. A student in the FNP track and a student in NEL read different sections, and the RN-BSN and Traditional BSN have lists of their own.

Within a track, the lines fall into three kinds. Some are costs the student pays. Some are marked as covered by the university. And some depend entirely on the clinical site, so the sheet names them without being able to say whether you will meet them. Reading your track's list with those three kinds in mind tells you most of what a practicum will ask of your budget.

Amounts belong to Olivet's current sheet, so go there for figures. What follows is who carries each line and when it tends to arrive, which is what you need to plan.

Compliance: the lines every graduate student carries

The biggest group on the graduate lists is compliance, and all of it sits with the student. The first year brings a package that bundles compliance tracking with the background check and drug screen, and a renewal follows each year after. Around it sit CPR, titers and vaccines, the physical, personal health insurance and a line called Clinical Student Validation.

Olivet's handbook shapes how those lines are spent. The CPR line means an in-person AHA BLS card, since online courses are not accepted. The physical is recorded on Olivet's Health and Immunization Form. A negative titer means a booster and a repeat titer, so one item can mean a booster and a second titer to pay for.

Which company collects the package follows your curriculum: Verified Credentials QualifiedFirst in the new handbook, CastleBranch in the current one. Timing matters as much as cost, because Olivet wants every item finished ahead of your first clinical day and current the whole way through. The compliance checklist sets out each requirement.

Costs a clinical site can add

Some lines on the sheet appear only because of the site you land. Olivet names a MyClinicalExchange platform charge that applies only when your site uses that platform, and it lists possible clinical-site fees such as individual malpractice insurance, parking and an ID badge. The handbook adds that a site's requirements can go beyond Olivet's.

These are the costs students tend to meet by surprise, because nobody can predict them until a preceptor agrees and the site's onboarding begins. Two classmates in the same course can face very different site costs. The MyClinicalExchange page covers the platform charge and the onboarding it sits in.

Insurance is where Olivet's documents pull in two directions. Under the MSN handbook, FNP and PG-APRN students need malpractice coverage only if the site demands it, at minimum limits the handbook sets. The fee sheet, meanwhile, places student professional liability insurance among the FNP items covered by the university and names individual malpractice coverage among the fees a site might add.

What the sheet leaves off, and where placement help fits

Olivet's fee sheet has no line for preceptor placement, and Olivet's pages describe no list of preceptors or sites. That matches the program pages, where graduate students are told to begin with the people they know in their personal and working lives.
