We are an independent preceptor placement service for Olivet Nazarene University nursing students. Olivet asks its online graduate students to begin the preceptor search through their own networks; we add a second network, plus the preparation that turns a willing preceptor into an approved one. Olivet approves every preceptor and its faculty evaluate every student. Our work is everything that leads up to that.

Why a service built for one school
Olivet's clinical process has details a one-size approach misses. It runs two curricula side by side, with different FNP clinical courses and different compliance vendors. It limits FNP hours to 37 states plus the District of Columbia. Its FNP page asks for 30 attempts before the SON Clinical Coordinator steps in. Its online courses run in eight-week sessions on Central time, and much of what a preceptor must meet lives in a Canvas course the public never sees.
We built our service around those details. The pages on this site are checked against Olivet's own handbooks, program pages, fee sheet and licensure disclosures, and every match we make begins with the student's Olivet course number, curriculum and state. That focus is what makes us the most thorough placement option an Olivet student can choose.

Who we serve
Our work centers on Olivet's online graduate tracks: the MSN Family Nurse Practitioner, the Post-Graduate APRN (FNP) certificate, the MSN Nursing Education & Leadership and the Post-Bachelor's NEL certificate. RN-BSN students come to us for practicum hours in their own communities, such as the hospice hours in NRSG 364 and the population health hours in NRSG 471.
Olivet's online students live all over the country, so our network reaches well beyond Illinois into the states Olivet approves, while Kankakee County, the south suburbs and Chicagoland, close to Olivet's campus, stay central to it. The state guides cover each state's rules.
Traditional BSN students on the Bourbonnais campus work in a different system: Olivet assigns every clinical placement and asks students not to contact sites or potential preceptors. For them the right help is Olivet's own clinical team, and our BSN clinicals guide explains how that system runs.
How we work alongside Olivet's rules
Olivet's rules come first. Olivet approves every preceptor, its faculty evaluate student outcomes, and the final word on any rule belongs to your handbook version, your requirements course, your course faculty and the SON Clinical Coordinator. Our part is to prepare what goes to Olivet so that it is complete and fits those rules the first time.
Where Olivet publishes two answers to one question, as it does for FNP clinical courses, compliance vendors and RN-BSN hours, we show you both and point you to your advisor for the one that applies. Where Olivet leaves a detail to the Canvas requirements course, such as the preceptor approval form, we work from what your own course says.

The preceptors in our network
Our network is made up of practicing clinicians and nurse leaders who teach students in their own settings: primary care practices for FNP students, schools of nursing and leadership teams for NEL students, hospice teams for RN-BSN hours. We introduce students whose course and schedule fit a preceptor's practice, so each placement starts on solid footing and the preceptor knows exactly what the course needs.
When a preceptor takes an Olivet student through us, we make the introduction, share the course number, hours and dates up front, and stay in touch through the course, so questions go to one contact rather than down a chain of emails.

How to reach us
Every page on this site has a chat button and a short request form. Tell us your Olivet track, your next clinical course, your city and state and your start date, and a placement advisor replies with the preceptor options that fit. For a longer note, the contact page adds a message box. If a preceptor has already agreed and you only need help with what Olivet's approval asks for, say so; we pick up wherever your search stands. Every reply comes from a placement advisor who works with Olivet's process every day.

Is Olivet Preceptor part of Olivet Nazarene University?
We are an independent placement service. Olivet asks its graduate students to start with their own networks, and students who want a wider search come to us. Olivet approves every preceptor we help a student find, and Olivet's faculty evaluate every student's outcomes.
Do you place students outside Illinois?
Yes. Olivet's online students live across the country, and we place them in their own areas. FNP students must log hours in one of Olivet's approved states, 37 states plus the District of Columbia, and we keep every FNP search inside that list.
Do you help Traditional BSN students?
Olivet assigns every Traditional BSN clinical placement and asks students not to contact sites or potential preceptors, so those placements belong to Olivet. Our work centers on the online tracks, where students run their own search. BSN graduates who continue into an Olivet MSN are welcome when their first practicum comes up.
Which Olivet courses do you place for?
The FNP clinicals, NRSG 636C through NRSG 639C and the current curriculum's NRSG 665A through NRSG 665F; the NEL practicums, NRSG 604 and NRSG 620, or NRSG 658 and NRSG 634 in the current curriculum; and the RN-BSN practicums, including hospice hours in NRSG 364 and population health in NRSG 471.
How is your service different from the SON Clinical Coordinator's help?
The coordinator is Olivet's own support. On the FNP page it begins after 30 unsuccessful attempts, and the site may fall outside your preferred location. We work from the first day of your search, in your own area, and prepare approval details up front. The two can run side by side; see your options compared.
